Climate
April  is a wonderful month to visit Amsterdam; tulips bloom everywhere and you are able to enjoy 5h of sunshine during the 14 hours of daylight April is also the second-driest month - after February - but considerably warmer! The average temperatures are between 12.8°C (55°F) and 3.3°C (38°F).

Language
The official language of the congress is English. Simultaneous translation will not be provided.

Liability and Insurance
The organizer is not able to take any responsibility whatsoever for injury or damage involving persons and property during the congress. Participants are advised to take out their own personal travel and health insurance for their trip.

Official Letter of Invitation
Please click here to receive a personal letter of invitation for the 26th ECCMID. Alternatively, upon request, the Congress Secretariat can send a personal invitation that can be used to assist participants to raise travel funds or to obtain a visa. The invitation is not a commitment on the part of the organizers to provide any financial support. Applications for invitation letters from the secretariat must be received at least 6 weeks prior to the congress.

Travel to the Venue

How to Reach the Congress Venue by Public Transportation

Tram: You will find a tram stop right outside the venue. Tram line 4 takes you directly to the central station.

Metro:
The RAI has its own metro station. Amsterdam metro line 51 will take you to the central station and downtown Amsterdam.    

Taxi:
For visitors who want to take a taxi to the RAI Amsterdam Congress Center, journey times and prices are found below:

From Shiphol Airport: A taxi from the airport will cost €30-35 and take around 15 – 20 minutes for the 14 kilometers.
From the city center: A taxi from the centre will cost €15-25, take around 15 – 30 minutes for the 6 kilometers

Car: Right next to the A10 ring road, RAI Amsterdam is easily accessible by car. The RAI also provides up to 5,000 parking spaces: General costs €17 per day.

Train: From Schiphol airport the sprinter trains take you directly to Amsterdam RAI station in only 10 minutes. Check the overhead boards at Schiphol station to ensure your train stops at Amsterdam RAI. You should not take a train to Amsterdam Central which goes via another route. The station is 300 metres from the Convention Center.

Visa Requirements
Participants are requested to check with the Dutch consulate in their home country or with their travel agency for visa requirements. As part of the European Union, for some countries a Schengen Visum is required. It is the responsibility of the participant to obtain a visa in advance if required.
